Dear Hornet Familia,
August is here, and a new academic year awaits us. As we switch gears in preparation for the fall, I hope the summer gave you the chance to recharge, catch up and do something for yourself.
As I plan for the new year, I think about all that makes our college so special.
We’re special because of the heart we put into our work. While we all may approach the new year differently, we all strive to meet the same goal – to help our students succeed. I am so excited to see the strategies we will embed into our work, to witness the growth of our college and to experience the transformation that lies ahead.
We have so much to look forward to this 2026-27 academic year. I invite you to join us at our fall 2026 Convocation, Adelante Together from 9-11 a.m. on Friday, August 21 in the Campus Theatre. This will be an exciting time to come together, inspire one another and celebrate new beginnings.
I also invite you to our Grand Reopening of Building 300 from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, August 31. The reopening will honor a historic piece of Fullerton College legacy. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP on the Building 300 Grand Reopening Eventbrite website.
I would also love to encourage campus-wide participation in our fall 2026 information booths. Booths will be located in front of Buildings 100 and 2000 and north of Building 500. A fruitful volunteer experience, information booths are a great opportunity to ensure incoming students feel welcome, comfortable and confident. Volunteers can reserve their shift on the Sign-Up Form. Your participation is crucial and a great way to honor our shared vision.
As we conclude the summer, I wish you a successful preparation period ahead. We’re in this together!
With gratitude,
Dr. Cynthia Olivo
