Statement from the President

Dear Hornet Familia,

As we enter 2025, Fullerton College wishes to reiterate our unwavering commitment to being a welcoming, safe and supportive campus community where all individuals can learn and thrive.

We also recognize that our community is facing new challenges, deep uncertainty, and emotional stress post-election. This is particularly true for our undocumented community and those with mixed status households.

As we face the uncertainty of potential policy changes head on, please know that Fullerton College is here for you and we will navigate this together. Nobody is ever alone and we have the resources and programs to ensure challenges do not keep you from achieving your academic goals. Our campus is taking a proactive and collective approach to ensure the safety and well-being of all our students and is motivated by our shared values of inclusivity, diversity, and shared community.

If Federal Immigration Officials Are on Campus

BE CALM: Remember to remain calm if the interaction causes concern. Safety is our top priority.

REPORT: If the ICE Officer attempts to enter a non-public space without permission, contact Campus Safety immedaitely at 714-992-7777 and do not attempt to obstruct.

INFORM:  If the ICE Officer presents a warrant or subpoena, inform the officer, you are not obstructing their process; you do not have the authority to respond to the request; you are required to follow NOCCCD protocol for all inquiries. Immediately direct the ICE Officer to Campus Safety at 714-992-7777.

Student Data Protection

Fullerton College will not release any personally identifiable student information, including any data related to immigration status, without a judicial warrant, subpoena, or court order, unless authorized by the student or required by law. Students can be confident that based on federal and state law, any information they submit on their college admission applications will not put themselves or their families at risk.

Assembly and Senate Bills

  • Assembly Bill 49 prohibits schools from allowing immigration enforcement officers on campus without a warrant.
  • Senate Bill 627 widely prohibits federal and local law enforcement officers from wearing face masks while conducting their duties. 
  • Senate Bill 805 requires that law enforcement officers identify themselves while conducting their duties, with some exceptions. 
  • Senate Bill 81 prohibits immigration enforcement from entering restricted areas of a health facility without a judicial warrant or court order. 
  • Senate Bill 98 requires schools and higher education institutions to send community notifications when immigration enforcement is on campus, and prohibits immigration enforcement from entering certain areas without a judicial warrant or court order.
